Adelle Henderson – Research Assistant

Adelle works in Cognition’s Auckland office as a Research Assistant. She has worked for Cognition for two and a half years, coming to the company as a new graduate. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, which included a placement with Middlemore Hospital’s Centre for Clinical Research and Effective Practice in her final year. Adelle is still studying and is currently part way through a Master’s degree in Resource and Environmental Planning.

Adelle’s role as Research Assistant includes initial data analysis and report writing, web editing for DTG and completing various other administrative tasks for the Research Team. She also liaises with schools, consultants and clients involved in various research projects.

She was drawn to the job because the diverse interactions with a wide variety of different parties appealed to her, and she valued the opportunity to establish and improve her written language skills. She was also happy the position enabled her to use her statistics and mathematical knowledge.

Her favourite experience at Cognition so far has been coordinating and attending the 2008 Digital Technologies Professional Learning Symposium, a two day conference held last year at the Centra Hotel. Adelle says it was the “most enjoyable two days she’s had at any job”.
