CAPITAL E CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY
Capital E is a creative technology, theatre, and events centre for children, based in Wellington. They offer creative technology programmes in their ONTV television studio and SoundHouseTM NZ digital media suite in which school students use the facilities in half day modules to create inspiring media works reflecting their views on the world.  Students and teachers work with Capital E’s experts to develop the skills and knowledge required to put together their media works.

Futureintech has 8 Facilitators throughout NZ, who recruit technologists, engineers and scientists to come into schools at all year levels, to share how they use science, maths and technology in their careers and enhance your classroom programme by assisting with practical hands on activities or projects.

GIFTEDNZ: THE PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR GIFTED EDUCATION
giftEDnz is a national association for principals, teachers, RTLBs, counsellors, educational psychologists, teacher educators, professional development providers, researchers, postgraduate students and other professionals who have an interest in gifted and talented education. Our goals are: to advocate for equitable educational opportunities for gifted and talented students; to enhance the profile of gifted and talented education in New Zealand; to create a professional community for networking, supporting and learning; to encourage the pursuit of best practices in gifted and talented education; and to provide liaison with other national associations and international organisations for gifted and talented education.

GIFTED KIDS PROGRAMME
The Gifted Kids Programme provides specialist and targeted support to gifted students and their teachers from Dargaville to Invercargill. A one-day-a-week differentiated and purposely developed primary-intermediate programme, professional development for contributing schools, and consultancy services to schools (or school clusters) are offered.

THE GIFTED EDUCATION CENTRE
The Gifted Education Centre works to meet the intellectual, emotional and social needs of gifted students throughout New Zealand via its provision of One Day School™, Gifted Online and Small Poppies classes.  Parent and school support is also available, provided via parent evenings, assessment and professional development services.

MINDLAB
Mind Lab is an internationally proven method to develop tomorrow’s global thinkers. Targeting Years 1-10, Mind Lab is an innovative thinking skills curriculum that uses many modern and traditional strategy-based board games to develop metacognitive thinking, as well as essential social and emotional life skills. Mind Lab links to other approaches in tackling; the Key Competencies, Gifted & Talented, Solo Taxonomy, Inquiry Based Learning, Reflective Thinking, and Extending Boys.

MUSEUMS WELLINGTON
Museums Wellington belongs to Wellington Museums Trust and comprises Museum of Wellington City and Sea, Colonial Cottage, Wellington Cable Car Museum and Plimmers Ark Gallery. Educators consult classroom teachers to create primary and secondary learning experiences that complement school based programmes. We provide learning opportunities in an authentic context that cannot be replicated in the classroom. The Ministry of Education supports MW learning programmes.

THE NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION FOR GIFTED CHILDREN (NZAGC)
The New Zealand Association for Gifted Children (NZAGC) exists to promote the needs of gifted children at a national level and support and foster initiatives at local level which meet those needs.
Our Constitution puts this more formally as:
"NZAGC will champion the cause of gifted children at home, in their schooling and beyond. NZAGC will foster the educational and social development of gifted children through the achievement of a climate in which giftedness is recognised, understood and accepted as a valuable human attribute and in which the special needs of gifted children are met fully, effectively and with generosity."
The NZAGC provides an environment where gifted children, their parents, teachers and other education professionals can meet, learn from each other and help each other. Please use this website to make contact with members or others who can assist.

NZ MARINE STUDIES CENTRE, UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO
The NZMSC is based at the University of Otago's Marine Laboratory on Otago Peninsula.  It runs an LEOTC contract for the Ministry of Education providing support for schools in Marine Science Education.  The Nelson/Marlborough programmes are run as an outpost, based at the Touch the Sea Aquarium in Mapua and run by Richard de Hamel.

SONIA WHITE, GIFTED EDUCATION CONSULTANCY
Professional development: one-to-one support, key teams (PLGs), teacher coaching, full or half-day workshops, seminars, staff meetings, or keynotes, available face-to-face or online. Consultation about your school’s needs through a Needs Analysis for any of the following:

  • Assistance with the development of long term action plans,
  • Provision of professional development to teachers and key teams in:
  • understanding gifted pedagogy and research with links to the NZC
  • policy development, identification policy and procedure
  • school-wide provisions, departmental provisions and in-class provisions
  • Unit development, including differentiated learning with a focus on more able students, and with strong links to the NZC
  • Identification of and provisions for gifted Maori and Pasifika students.
  • One-to-one support of gifted education coordinators.

WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION FOR GIFTED CHILDREN
The objectives of the Wellington Association for Gifted Children are to:

  • champion the cause of gifted children;
  • foster the educational development of gifted children;
  • foster the social development of gifted children;
  • provide opportunities for gifted children, their families and educators to interact with each other;
  • provide gifted children with exposure to people and experiences of potential  interest to them;
  • advocate for the recognition, acceptance and understanding of giftedness in children as a valuable human attribute;
  • advocate for and engender public and professional awareness and understanding of giftedness as a means of attaining full and effective provision for the special needs of gifted children;
  • promote the improvement of educational and social opportunities to assist gifted children to receive an education appropriate to their abilities and needs;
  • support members of the Association, in their decision making and family life, in relation to gifted children;
  • support members of the Association who are educators in their decision making and teaching in relation to gifted children;
  • provide and promote access to information and resources regarding giftedness and gifted children to members, relevant individuals and groups;
  • encourage research into giftedness.
