Cognition

In 2007, under contract to New York City Department of Education, Cognition provided formative assessment development support in an asTTle-based professional development programme in 14 publicly owned schools in Harlem, New York City.  

The quality and impact of the programme has been enthusiastically acknowledged by the regional superintendent and the participating principals and teachers.

This work was carried out in association with Auckland University’s Professor John Hattie and a team from UniServices. Cognition Consulting consultants Bronwyn Weston and Ann Northover concluded a successful six-week programme in New York, assisting teachers and principals in 14 schools on the Upper West Side to pilot the use of the asTTle formative assessment tool in their schools.
