As a trustee it is important that you invest in professional development to ensure you have the knowledge and skills to deliver the right results for your school.

On behalf of the Ministry of Education, Cognition Education is delighted to be able to offer free training for new boards of trustees in the clusters of schools listed below.

We are offering two workshops:

1. The first will  focus on governance roles and responsibilities to achieve the best outcomes for your children and the distinction between governance and day-to-day management
2. The second will focus on the board’s role in promoting student achievement, the New Zealand Curriculum and national standards

We are requesting that all participants bring a copy of “Effective governance. Working in partnership” to the first workshop. The Ministry of Education posted 4 copies of this document to each school. If you would like to order more copies please click here.
