Cognition

Between 1998 and 2007 Cognition was contracted by the Ministry of Education to provide professional development support to schools through the Assess to Learn contract.

Over this time consultants worked with over 100 schools and provided tailored professional development programmes which included:

• cluster workshops
• school based workshops
• individual observation of teaching including feedback and goal setting
• seminar and consultation opportunities with parents and caregivers.

School support was focussed on raising student achievement through the use of formative assessment strategies and the use of evidence to inform next learning steps.
