Leadership and Assessment Cognition Education has partnered with Waikato University, Core Education, the Tainui-Waikato College and the NZ Council for Education Research to form Te Toi Tupu-Leading Learning Network. This consortium provides professional development services to school leaders in the central north region of New Zealand on behalf of the Ministry of Education. The programme is focussed on strong leadership and assessment practices that support student achievement. National Aspiring Principals Programme (NAP) Te Toi Tupu-Leading Learning Network manages New Zealand’s NAP programme. This programme supports teachers in middle management who aspire to school leadership to gain the skills and confidence to make that next step. The blended learning approaches allow teachers to access material in their own time as well as attend face-to-face workshops and coaching sessions. Public Private Partnership - Qatar Between 2004 and 2009 Cognition provided professional development support for over 80 Ministry of Education schools in Qatar. A key component of this support was dedicated coaching for principals and other senior leaders to develop strategies to implement future focussed policies and practices to accelerate student achievement. Leadership Training - Qatar Cognition worked with the Supreme Education Council of Qatar to provide leadership training for school principals. This focussed on the key competencies for principals as identified in the National Professional Standards for Teachers and School Leaders.
