Cognition has an active presence in South East Asia. Our team have undertaken a variety of projects in:

  • Brunei
  • Malaysia
  • Hong Kong
  • Indonesia

Our work has included establishing new schools, delivering assessment and curriculum professional development to teachers and school leaders, and developing curriculum.

 Brunei

 


 

 

 

Cognition has been involved in a number of projects in Brunei.

These include:

  • new school establishment (Jerudong International School)
  • coaching and mentoring of school leaders
  • coaching, mentoring and advising the National School Inspectorate
  • policy and operational planning suppor

Malaysia
Cognition is currently working with a client in Malaysia to develop and deliver a curriculum to support students who have been identified as having high potential. The project which is in its development phase include online, and face to face components.

Indonesia
Cognition has been involved in a number of education initiatives in Indonesia. These projects were undertaken for international agencies including IBRD (World Bank), directly with governments and with individual schools:

  • concept planning phases for the development of a private university and secondary school
  • two capacity and capability studies in Riau, West Java, Maluku and Yogyakarta
  • governance, strategic planning and school management at the school level in Bali
  • project preparation for decentralised education administrative systems and school-based management
  • project preparation for multi-grade teaching professional development.

Hong Kong and the Philippines
An understanding of cultural values and international practice positioned Cognition well for development and curriculum design and implementation within an Asian context:

  • developing effective school governance and management, and performance management systems in schools
  • governance, school management and curriculum framework development to support school-wide assessment systems and quality self review.
