Cognition expects you to abide by all laws of the country. This includes the use of alcohol. If your drinking becomes a police matter, you should expect to be deported at best. You may not then enter the UAE again, even as a tourist in the future. While Abu Dhabi can come across as a relatively Western country in its air of relaxed behaviour, this is very superficial. It is not the West, and as the political capital, Abu Dhabi is much more conservative than Dubai.
